schools in the
points earned for
their state grade.
Cornerstone
Elementary, a
charter school in
Bunnell, tied for
50th place on the
list released
Wednesday by Florida
Education
Commissioner John
Winn.
School letter
grades are based on
Florida
Comprehensive
Assessment Test
scores, with a
maximum 600 points
available for
reading, math and
writing achievement
plus students'
improvement from one
year to the next.
Cornerstone
earned 384 points
this year, a
71-point increase
that improved its
letter grade from D
to B.
Starke Elementary
in DeLand also made
the top 100 ranking,
tying for 70th place
among the state's
elementary schools.
Starke earned 397
points this year, a
62-point jump that
made its letter
grade go from C to
B.
